EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS 2025-26


Aline Longstaff, President

Aline Longstaff is an attorney in the Litigation, Investigations, and Trials Practice Group at Snell & Wilmer.

She advises clients in a variety of fields, including healthcare, insurance, and higher education, to help them better understand how best to pursue their interests before and during litigation. Aline’s practice focuses on both the district and appellate levels in the areas of contract, complex commercial litigation, corporate governance, and real property disputes.

She is recognized as a 30 Women to Watch honoree by Utah Business Magazine as well as a Mountain States Super Lawyers®, Rising Stars Edition, Business Litigation and The Best Lawyers in America®: Ones to Watch.

Aline currently serves on the board of the Harvard Alumni Association of Utah and previously served as UMBA’s President-Elect as well as its CLE Committee Chair. She is a 2025-26 NAPABA Leadership Advancement Program Fellow and a co-chair of Snell & Wilmer’s Lawyers of Color affinity group.

Prior to joining Snell & Wilmer, Aline served as a Judicial Law Clerk for Judge Diana Hagen in the Utah Court of Appeals and for Judge Bruce S. Jenkins in the U.S. District Court, District of Utah.


Wayne Latu, President-Elect

Wayne Latu is a Litigation Associate at Quinn Emanuel.

He joined the Salt Lake City office in 2022 and his practice is focused primarily on white collar defense, investigations, and general business-oriented trials.

Wayne studied corporate law at BYU Law, where he also received all-conference honors as a captain of the football team, served as vice president for student athletics, and graduated with a degree in piano performance and physical science.  Wayne previously externed with the Honorable John Pearce of the Utah Supreme Court and currently serves as an advisor for BYU’s football team.

Wayne previously served as UMBA’s Secretary.

Jessica Ramirez, Immediate Past President

Jessica Ramirez is a Litigation Attorney at the Salt Lake City office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP.

She has represented clients at all stages of litigation and across a broad range of industries, including healthcare, technology and consumer goods. Her experience includes mass tort, securities, employment defense and breach of contract litigation.

Jessica currently serves on the Board of the Salt Lake Legal Defender Association and has previously served on the board of the English Skills Learning Center. She previously served as President-Elect and Secretary on UMBA’s Executive Board.

Prior to joining Kirkland, Jessica was an associate at Ray Quinney & Nebeker in Salt Lake City, where she represented clients in employment defense and commercial litigation matters. She earned her J.D. from the University of Utah where she served as the executive articles editor for the Utah Law Review and graduated with High Honors. Jessica has also been recognized by her peers as a Mountain States Rising Star.

Amaris Leiataua, Secretary

Amaris Leiataua is an attorney at Holland & Hart where she advises clients across a range of real estate transactions, helping them develop informed legal strategies that assist in advancing their business objectives. She supports clients in facilitating cross-border transactions, drafting real estate contracts, conducting land use research, and performing comprehensive due diligence, including for renewable energy projects.  

During law school, Amaris served as a judicial intern for Associate Chief Justice John A. Pearce of the Utah Supreme Court and Senior Judge Ted Stewart of the US District Court for the District of Utah. Before pursuing a career in law, Amaris worked in the field of education as an educator with the Compton Unified School District. She has a Bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley and a Master of Education from UCLA. 


Nichole Briceño, Treasurer

Nichole Briceño is an attorney at Ray Quinney & Nebeker where she practices in the firm’s Family Law, Employment and Labor Law, and Litigation sections.

Before attending law school, Nichole received a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Utah and graduated as an inductee of the Beehive Honor Society. At the University of Utah, Nichole served as President of the Student Alumni Board and as a Board Member of the Board of Governors. In law school, Nichole served as Vice President of the Minority Law Caucus. Nichole served as a Durham Fellow for the Utah Center of Legal Inclusion and was a two-time recipient of the Utah Minority Bar Association Scholarship.

She interned with University of Utah Health and completed two summers at Ray Quinney and Nebeker. Nichole is fluent in Spanish.
