Andres Gonzalez, President

Andres Gonzalez is an Associate Attorney with the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office.

Andy currently serves as President on UMBA's Executive Board. He is a Deputy District Attorney for the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office where he litigates felony and misdemeanor cases for the Special Victims Unit. Andy graduated from BYU Law in 2016 and has been a practicing attorney for nearly six years. On a more personal note, Andy is a second-generation Ecuadorian-American and believes in the value of a diverse legal profession. Originally from Los Angeles, Andy is an avid Lakers fan and enjoys playing and watching a variety of sports, including basketball and soccer. Andy also enjoys weight training, traveling, golf, and going to the movies.

Jessica Ramirez, President-Elect

Jessica Ramirez is an Associate Attorney at Ray Quinney & Nebeker.

Jessica practices in the firm’s Employment, Litigation, and Products Liability Sections. In addition, she has experience in the areas of property disputes, securities violations, contract disputes, and immigration law. She graduated from the University of Utah, David Eccles School of Business, with a degree in finance. During law school, she served as the Executive Articles Editor of the Utah Law Review. She currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Salt Lake Legal Defender Association and the English Skills Learning Center. Mrs. Ramirez also served as the Director of Events for the Salt Lake Chapter of the Association for Latino Professionals of America.

Prior to law school, she interned at Immigrant Legal Service and volunteered for the Pro Bono Initiative: Street Law, Community Legal Clinic, and Debtors Clinic.

Tony Graf, Immediate Past President

Tony Graf is a Deputy Utah County Attorney.

Tony grew up in California and moved to Utah to attend college. Tony graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in History from the University of Utah, a Masters of Science in Criminal Justice from Weber State University and a Juris Doctor from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah.

Following law school, Tony served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in Washington, DC, served as a prosecutor in Nevada and in the Territory of American Samoa.

As a Deputy District Attorney for Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office handling special victims’ cases. Currently, Tony is a Deputy County Attorney in Utah County.

Tony is actively involved with the Utah Minority Bar Association, serves as a volunteer Judge Pro Tempore for Salt Lake City, and is an elected member of Tooele City Council. Above all, Tony loves spending time with his family.

Nefi Acosta, Secretary

Nefi Acosta is Sr. Product & Privacy Counsel at Strava

Nefi obtained his undergraduate degree from Utah Valley University and his law degree from the University of California, Irvine School of Law. Prior to working at Strava, he served as a judicial clerk in the District Court for the Northern District of California and was an associate at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP in Los Angeles. Nefi previously served as a board member to the Mexican American Bar Foundation and Community Legal Aid SoCal.


Iqan Fadaei, Treasurer

Iqan Fadaei is an Associate at Michael Best & Friedrich LLP

Iqan obtained a Master’s degree in Politics from the University of Edinburgh in 2017 and graduated from the University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law in 2020. Today, Iqan advises clients on securities and financial services regulation.
