PURPOSE
The purpose of the Strong & Hanni Scholarship Program (“S&H Scholarship”), which is presented in partnership with The Larry H. Miller Company, is to assist law students from the S.J. Quinney College of Law and the J. Reuben Clark Law School who have a demonstrated record of service to racial and ethnic minority communities in completing their legal education.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
In addition to scholarship funds of $20,000, the winner of the S&H Scholarship will receive the opportunity to work as a paid summer associate at the firm along with the opportunity to work with corporate counsel through one of Utah’s premier companies, The Larry H. Miller Company.  The scholarship recipient will be provided ongoing mentoring and networking opportunities as well as involvement with firm events, CLEs, and community service projects. This paid summer internship will begin during the summer of 2026.

ELIGIBILITY
Must be a student in their second year of law school (“2L”) who is enrolled in law school for the 2025-2026 school year and a current member of the law school minority organization. Award and scholarship are contingent on enrollment in law school for the 2025-26 school year and acceptance/completion as a 2026 summer associate at Strong & Hanni.

Please note that given the unique nature of this opportunity, only 2L students prepared to make a firm commitment to a paid summer associate position with Strong & Hanni and the experience of working alongside corporate counsel at The Larry H. Miller Company during the 2026 summer period should submit an application for the S&H Scholarship. Failure to comply with this criteria may impact eligibility for other UMBA scholarship opportunities.
